"Social media is a tool, its power is in the hands of those who use it."
Like a double-edged sword, social media has brought us closer and simultaneously driven us apart. Today we are here to explore the impact of social media on our connections.
“Social Media is not about the exploitation of the technology but service to the community.”
Dear Audience, with this mesmerizing quote insight, I ask you “Does social media make us less social?”
Social media is all around us, all the time. It makes our lives easier, safer, and more amusing. At this revolutionary moment in human history the world is changing faster than expected, it is safe to say that we have come a long way discovering fire 400,000 years ago. Topics like AI, robotic arms and prosthetic technology are becoming easier to understand. In this upheaval, social media plays a pivotal role.
Before diving into the ornate details, let me make you understand what social media is. Media means to communicate through SMS, Newspaper or any information to the Public. Social media has affected every aspect of our lives for example, the way we interact; encounter each other, lifestyle and thinking of incorrect and correct. To bring media under-influence of a personality or leave it directionless and unguided is wrong.
Coming back to the foremost topic of my debate, that is Sociality. You may disagree that Social media is making us limited to 140 characters of emoji’s, that an average person spends 4 years of their life gazing at white screens and it is an addition but let me tell you that Social media will be the driving force of the next step on our evolutionary ladder.
With the breathtaking explosion of innovation and progress, Social Media seems to provide the intimacy and the charm of physical interaction in the digital veracity. It depends on how you use it, according to a large number of studies, tests and scientific research, “electro smog” will not harm you because all the day-to-day electronics appliances we use are only emitting radio waves, which are not cancer causing, and they will not damage your DNA and your cells.
On the one hand, social media has served as a bridge that connects us to people across the globe, like a string that ties us to our loved ones. However, on the other hand, it has also become a facade that conceals the truth behind carefully crafted profiles, like a mask that hides the natural face. Social media has allowed us to connect with people all over the world and share experiences and ideas with a wider audience.
However, social media has also brought about some negative effects on our relationships. With the rise of social media, many of us have become more concerned with presenting a perfect image of ourselves online, rather than being authentic. This can lead to feelings of inadequacy and a lack of trust in our relationships. Additionally, social media can also create a false sense of intimacy. In this digital age, we are more connected than ever, but this connection may be superficial and fleeting, like a mirage in the desert. Our virtual selves may appear perfect, yet in reality, they are distorted and incomplete, like a shattered mirror.
Moreover, social media can provide a platform for self-expression. Still, at the same time, it can also be a breeding ground for toxicity and negativity, like a rose with thorns. We may feel like we are part of a community online, yet we are alone in our silos, like a swarm of bees in different hives.
To conclude, social media is a paradox that we must grapple with. It has opened doors to new relationships, but it has also corroded the foundations of our existing ones. The challenge is to strike a balance between our online and offline lives and to use social media as a tool, not a replacement, for human interaction. We must break down the walls that separate us and build bridges that span the distance, like an unlikely union of fire and ice.
The Social media is extremely fast to communicate even over very large distances. I believe that Social Media Can Fortify Friendships, Social Media Is a Vehicle for Undertaking Morals and Social Media Reduces Spirits of Loneliness. Social Media is a great Platform for Personal Expression and displaying your talents, skills and knowledge.
I Shehryar Zeeshan would sign off by believing:
“Social media is not just a spoke of a Wheel of resurrection but it is becoming the way on which entire bikes are build!”
Thankyou!
